The bundle is a mixture of clinical and non-clinical staff, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, laboratory scientists, facilities workers and staff in administrative roles. A series of 18 different NHS Career profiles, completed by staff at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals. A range of careers is represented - both clinical and non-clinical. The resource is perfect for learning about different jobs in a hospital or for making a display. Each profile includes: name, picture, role, qualifications, plus information about what they do on a daily basis, how they got to where they are today, plus advice they wish they had been given!

An activity where students learn about the role of an occupational therapist, and help solve some patient problems (like an OT would!).

An activity where students learn about the role of a Speech and Language Therapist and help them to decode some commonly mispronounced words.

A comprehension activity where students read a short amount of text about different roles in the NHS and then colour the blank uniform to match the information in the text.

An activity which encourages students to add more detail to their writing. Students are asked to write instructions on ‘how to wake someone up’. A discussion around kindness, compassion, and adding lots of detail happens on the ideal way to wake someone up. Students then write a paragraph explaining in as much detail as they can. Answers provided by a healthcare support worker at York and Scarborough Hospitals - this is how they actually do it!

A series of activities in which students look at the journey of Danny, who has been injured when playing. Students have to put the cards in order of who Danny sees and what they do to help him. They then watch the video to check their answers and then discuss what care Danny receives in the community (once he is discharged from hospital).

An activity where students learn about different jobs in the NHS by looking at simpliied job adverts. Students then hear about different people’s desires when looking for a job (e.g. pay, hours, location) and suggest which jobs they could apply for from the list given.
